MANEY ALUMINIUM BARRELS
A great way to save weight (5kg) and enhance engine performance due to better heat dissipation.

MANEY RACING CRANKCASES
A must for any seriously tuned Commando engine; cast from patterns I designed myself, they keep the original appearance and mounting points whilst being much stronger than any others available. For road use I can machine the drive side to accept the standard chain case.

MANEY LIGHTWEIGHT CRANKSHAFT
To complement my lightweight Norton Commando crankshaft conversion, I now manufacture forged crankshaft cheeks to replace the cast steel originals. This means you no longer have to provide me with your old cast cheeks; I can supply my ultra lightweight crankshaft with brand NEW forged cheeks! And the best news of all is I can supply them in any length of stroke you, the customer, requires!

CRANKSHAFT CONVERSION
Consists of a NEW flywheel made from high tensile steel (the standard cast iron flywheel can be explosive, resulting in total engine destruction). NEW high tensile oversize fixing studs which eliminate whip at high revs. The side cheeks are tuftrided; this improves their strength and gives greater resistance to wear. As we assemble the crank after machining, we take great care to align the whole assembly accurately.

PERFORMANCE PUSHRODS
When Norton engines are run at high rpm it is very important that the pushrods are rigid and do not bend; this is the only way to control the valve, making sure it is doing what the cam designer intended. Being made from chrome molybdenum tube, my pushrods are at least 30% more rigid than aluminium, titanium and carbon fibre types. They are also lighter than standard pushrods.

CYLINDER HEAD WORK
When tuning Norton engines, most of the performance increase comes directly from the cylinder head. But beware, there is most definitely a right and a wrong way of doing things, and there's no substitute for experience. I can help you here, as this is my 30th year of working on Norton cylinder heads. I offer three stages of tune; each comes with NEW valve seats, valve guides and our own tuftrided race quality valves. The ports are increased and shaped to suit each different valve size. Since 2002 I have been doing all the machining work on my CNC Machining Centre, including the 3 dimensional port shapes. This has enabled me to produce exact contours that are not possible with conventional machines and hand work, using modern technology to keep my customers at the very front of the field.

Stage 1: 3mm oversize inlet valves … £440.00

MANEY EXHAUST SYSTEM (RACE)
After the cylinder head, the second best place to pick up horsepower is the exhaust system. Most exhaust systems and silencers are made to fit many different bikes and are not as efficient as they should be.
My exhaust is a high level two-into-one race system that I designed specifically to suit the Norton engine.
It meets UK and US racing noise requirements and has been constantly refined on the dyno since 1993.

EXTRA SILENCER  
To complement my race exhaust system I have manufactured an extra silencer that is adjustable so that even the most stringent noise levels can be met.
It is a direct replacement for my system's original reverse cone and can be fitted in minutes.
Also supplied is a blank end-plate that if needed will silence to a mere whisper.

MANEY EXHAUST THREAD REPAIR
This is simply the best repair for stripped cylinder head exhaust threads. I CNC machine the old damaged portion away and thread mill a new oversize hole, into which I screw my new threaded insert in bringing it back to the original size. The insert can also be removed and replaced if required. Good news for those of you who have had bad or unsuccessful repairs done in the past. I also make and fit an oversize insert.

MANEY BELT DRIVE SYSTEMS
Smoother running, lightweight, no power sapping chain and no chaincase oil leaks. These are all things that are guaranteed to improve road bikes and racers alike. I have been manufacturing and using belt drives for 19 years, and experience has shown me which belts are the best and how to mount the clutch bearing in steel. DRIVE SIDE OIL SEAL

GEARBOX OUTRIGGER
A must for gearboxes running the long Commando mainshaft, which is prone to flexing. Simple to fit, uses top and bottom gearbox mountings. Must be used in conjunction with belt drives, as the inner chaincase has to be modified on standard road bikes.

CRANKSHAFT MOUNTED RACING IGNITION
In back to back Dyno testing, my ignition system gave 2 to 3 more horsepower than the conventionally mounted ignitions. I have also developed the ignition curve to suit the Commando motor. This is one of the best tuning modifications money can buy.

MANEY CUSH DRIVE UNIT
Those of you who have had broken gearboxes will already know that every drive train needs some kind of shock absorbing device, and even though the belt in a belt drive system is made from rubber, it does not provide this service. Well, the good news is I have decided to manufacture in volume the Cush Drive Unit I have been using on all my racers since 1995. The unit bolts direct to a 4 bolt Triumph disc brake hub and features an extra bearing in the catch plate. Also, the sprockets are mounted on 8 stubs that locate into the rubbers, which means gearing changes can be made in no time! I also have a range of sprockets, 40 to 45 teeth.
